A person who participates in a conversation exercises the role of interlocutor in a conversation in which feedback is established between the participants in it. A conversation in which there is a dialogue between sender and receiver.

The vain interlocutor is one who has an excess of ego and shows a desire for superiority during the conversation. However, it often achieves the opposite effect: others distance themselves.

The lonely interlocutor is the person who enjoys moments of solitude more than group plans. They are people who feel more comfortable in plans in which they are accompanied by few friends than in large plans.

The interlocutor who is the soul of the party shows the role of that very sociable person who is usually the center of attention thanks to his charisma, his sympathy and his naturalness. They are people who transmit great self-confidence that bring a very positive energy to others.

The optimistic interlocutor is the person who always looks at the glass as half full and puts his or her attention on the good side of things. On the contrary, the pessimistic interlocutor is one who tends to frequently complain about his mistakes.

How to improve the conversation

It is convenient to reinforce attitudes that enhance mutual understanding and reduce the interpersonal distance that arises as a result of communication errors. For example, it is positive to turn off the mobile phone during a conversation in order to avoid interruptions. True empathy does not arise from treating others as you would like them to treat yourself but from understanding the needs of the interlocutor.
