definition of joy

Joy is one of the many emotions that human beings experience in this life along with others such as fear, anger, surprise, sadness and disgust. It is usually caused by a pleasant feeling or because of the relationship with some person or thing that manifests this type of emotion and that infects us by living it almost as our own.

Joy, then, as can be seen from what we mentioned, is a positive and pleasant emotion for anyone who observes it, both in himself and in the other, as long as and most of the time, it is characterized by the manifestation of a luminous inner state, which shows a good amount of energy and a tendency towards a constructive and positive attitude, even when things have not turned out as expected or desired.

Because the happy person hardly goes unnoticed by the rest of the eyes, since what he shows physically, speaking or in the decisions he makes, reveal that state of harmony and happiness that we described.

Joy can appear as a reaction, that is, it may appear as a consequence of a passing event such as winning a prize, spending time with friends, receiving a compliment, a job increase, buying a nice dress or bumping into an object that we wanted and suddenly without any effort is ours.

In this situation, it may be that later the person who before this event presented himself as grim or bad-tempered, returns to this humor.

But on the other hand it may be that in reality joy is a vital tendency or the normal attitude that a person has to live his life, that is, that he takes joy as a value on which each of his decisions will be guided, attitudes or thoughts.

In other words, and moving away a bit from the formality of definitions, I believe joy is the ideal state to which a person can aspire to reach.
