The term of theft is designated as a crime that is perpetrated against the assets of an individual, group, body, company, among others. A robbery, basically, consists of seizing those property of others, with the sole purpose of profit and using violence, intimidation and threat as resources to achieveit.

This last aspect that we mentioned, of the use of violence, is what definitely differentiates theft from theft, since the latter will only imply the seizure of the property of others without any type of violent intervention.

Meanwhile, we can distinguish between two types of theft. On the one hand we find the theft that involves the application of force in thingsIn other words, to carry it out and make it happen, it will be necessary to exert some kind of force or special violence to access the place where the precious loot is found. For example, a criminal or a group of criminals who planned the robbery of a safe in a house or a bank, generally, to make it effective, they must use force materialized in some type of explosive or special tool to force the opening from the same. Another case in which the exercise of force in things can also be observed is when a criminal uses a pick or blows to be able to enter to rob a private home.

And on the other hand, the one previously mentioned at the beginning of the article, which involves the use of violence and intimidation of people to perpetrate it. For example, when the offender uses a firearm or a knife to "convince" his victim to hand over his valuable personal belongings.

Of course, as a consequence of the higher degree of violence that is used in the second mentioned modality, it is that it observes in the legislation a much greater penalty than, for example, theft is susceptible.

Another type of theft, not as widespread as the previous ones but which has recently achieved significant growth as a result of the development of new technologies is the identity theft. In this type of theft, the assailant who took over our personal belongings, including the wallet, in which we all generally keep our identity documents, credit and debit cards, among others, can use them by taking over our financial identity and for example, make purchases on our behalf and with our money. Therefore, the first thing that a person should do when their wallet is stolen and to avoid a situation like the one mentioned above, is to report the theft of those cards in order to cancel them so that the criminal cannot use them even if they have them at hand. your disposition.
