The term companionship is used to designate a type of relationship or friendly bond that is established between colleagues, school, work, among others, and whose main characteristics are attitudes and behaviors in which kindness, respect and trust between them. Fellowship is especially characteristic of certain types of ties such as fraternal relationships, relationships with work colleagues, schoolmates, etc.
To better understand the term companionship, it is necessary to define what a companion is.
In this sense, we can argue that a partner is that person with whom one shares certain situations, experiences and feelings in one or more moments of his life. Throughout the history of each individual, numerous companions may appear who are in certain places or spaces and with whom different types of companionship are established.

Lending a hand to a co-worker who is behind on a report to the boss is a clear act of camaraderie.
Giving a homeless friend a space at home is another clear example of companionship.
Good companions are generally loved and socially approved for their acts of kindness and of course they should be a role model for everyone and especially for those who tend to despise help in every way and privilege misunderstood individuality.
It is not necessary to be a friend of another to develop companionship, this attitude can be carried out beyond friendship, and even more, it has great value when we develop it in contexts where there is not a friendship of long years.
Influence on the achievement of success at work or in sport
On the other hand, it is important that we emphasize that companionship is a fundamental issue in groups that carry out work or sports activities together. The union, throwing everyone to the same side leaving aside individuality and vanity is the only way in which work groups or sports teams come to fruition and achieve their goals, increase sales, or earn a championship, respectively.
In this last aspect we must stop because for those who lead groups they know the importance of companionship to achieve the proposed objectives, then, when forming the teams they will select those people who show a pro companionship profile and of course those profiles that show us a person who does not care about the other but for their own good.
Characteristics of the good companion
It is easy to recognize a good partner because he will not make personal reproaches, he will always offer his support to those who demand it, and he has a positive dialogue with himself and with others.
Companionship is such an important phenomenon for community life that it can be found not only in human beings but also in many animal species that live in herds and that need each other to be able to survive better in certain environments.
For the bonds of companionship to exist, it is necessary that those beings that reproduce it have as their primary objective the defense and maintenance of the well-being of their peers, of their companions. Although there are many relationships in which an individual may be interested in the well-being of another, this does not always imply companionship since the latter also implies a total and complete surrender, as well as a disinterested, constant and deeply supportive attitude. Companionship is that which unites people who cannot have any blood bond but who share some ways of thinking or feeling so deeply that they come to be considered directly 'soul brothers'.
Encourage camaraderie
Unfortunately, companionship is one of the values that today's society has largely lost compared to earlier times. This is especially due to the fact that today we are immersed in a society in which individualistic, material and highly egocentric values are exalted and are considered as a representation of triumph and power, damaging and despising truly noble values such as the aforementioned companionship.
But we can twist this sense and we must do it by encouraging and instilling in the youngest the feeling.
