An audience is understood to be that more or less numerous group of people who are characterized by listening to an oral presentation or by attending a presentation of the same type. The audience can, however, be very variable and the concept can be applied both to people visible at the moment and it can also have an abstract meaning when talking about the audience without having it in front of it.
The audience is undoubtedly one of the most important elements of communication events. In specific terms, an audience can be composed of several members, but since the main function of the audience is to listen or witness different acts of communication, a single person can easily be considered as an audience.
The audience is the one that receives the information in the code in which it is transmitted, and there must always be a certain level of understanding. In general, the audience captures that information passively, without actively participating and simply taking the data that has been exposed. Nowadays, however, the participation of audiences in the different communication media is increasing and more relevant when it comes to constructing news, news and various information.
Audiences can be formed in endless spaces. While we normally think of the television audience at first, there are also audiences that witness live shows, sports, shows, lectures, conferences and academic exhibitions of various kinds. The audience is always located in front of the one who exhibits and, although the arrangement of the locations may vary, in general the audience remains seated and in a staggered manner to favor contact with those who present (although in recitals and music shows it is common for it to remain stopped throughout the show).
