definition of evasion

An escape is any form of distraction or entertainment and, in parallel, it is a strategy to avoid facing a responsibility. Another meaning refers to the action of escaping, normally from a penitentiary center and can also be used in relation to the breach of some civic responsibilities (for example, tax evasion).

The need to evade reality

Daily life, monotony and personal or professional obligations can generate a certain boredom and boredom. In this way, to distract ourselves we resort to some form of evasion. Having a hobby or practicing a sport are forms of entertainment that have a component of avoidance, since through them it is possible to temporarily forget everyday worries. There are forms of avoidance that have risks, such as the consumption of alcohol or drugs.

In any case, we evade as a flight or escape strategy in the face of an unstimulating situation. Reading a novel, watching a movie or simply fantasizing are also forms of escape, since with these actions we "enter" another reality.

Prison break

The deprivation of liberty in a prison is the consequence of a criminal action. Being in prison not only limits freedom but can affect the prisoner psychologically. Because of this, the temptation to escape is a reality, but it is very difficult because there are very strict security measures in prisons. On the other hand, if the escaped prisoner is arrested again, his imprisonment will be aggravated by evasion, as it appears in most penal codes.

Prison escape has become a whole cinematographic genre in which the protagonist has to start a great ingenuity and overcome all kinds of obstacles to make his escape possible.

Money evasion

Legal economic activity involves the payment of taxes and a whole series of administrative controls by the state. Consequently, there are people or entities that make the decision to keep their money in a safe place so that they do not have to pay taxes on it. When this happens, we talk about tax evasion, currency evasion or capital evasion. The destination of evaded money is normally a tax haven. In any of its forms, the evasion of money has a double purpose: not to pay taxes in the country itself and, on the other hand, to erase the trace of an illegal activity (trafficking in arms, drugs or any criminal activity associated with enrichment) .
