plug definition

The term plug is the one that is used specifically to designate the element that allows an electrical appliance to be connected to the electricity or current service. In other words, it could be said that the plug acts as an intermediary between the current of electricity (which without the plug would be much less easy to control) and the element that needs it to function. There are different types of plugs according to each energy need as well as the technical needs of each appliance.

We can say that the plug is made up of two main parts: the plug (also known as a male plug) and the socket (usually known as a female plug). These two elements are combined and complement each other since the first, the plug, is where the electric rods that will carry electricity come from and the second, the outlet is what we observe from the outside, the visible section of a plug that is placed on the wall. Usually plugs are extremely easy to use and increasingly secure.

According to each region of the planet we can find different types of plugs. Although there are some basic standards, it is common to need several types of plugs when traveling in order to avoid complicated situations. Most of the planet is handled with plugs of type C, F and E. There are types of plugs that go from A to M, which shows the remarkable variety of possibilities that are in the market. In any case, it is often difficult to combine two different types of plugs and that is why the market sells products and electronic devices that can be used in different types of plugs. Some sockets also have two or three possibilities included in the same socket so that all the necessary appliances can be used.
