All natural events, personal experiences or historical events take place under two coordinates: space and time. In other words, everything happens in a place and at a certain time. Despite this, certain events are known as timeless. Thus, the idea of love, friendship, anger, eroticism or work are universal concepts, that is, they are permanently present. Consequently, it is as if time does not affect them, since they are part of human reality.
Examples of timeless ideas
In any time or place people fall in love and each human being has his own love experience in a particular way, his own love story. However, love is something timeless, so it is not something that goes out of style or that could disappear.
War is a constant in the history of humanity. There have always been war conflicts to a greater or lesser extent. Military techniques have evolved, but the idea of war is just as timeless.
Certain debates can also be classified as timeless. This is what happens with the controversies between freedom and security, with respect to good and evil or in relation to the idea of justice.
Some scientific ideas are also timeless in character, such as the law of gravity or the axioms of mathematics.
A reflection on the term
Timeless is used synonymously with timeless. In any case, we understand that something has this characteristic when it goes beyond time. In this way, if something does not go out of style and remains alive, we say that it is timeless, as happens with some human creations. In this sense, human beings seek recognition and somehow they have the idea of leaving a legacy beyond life in order to pass on to posterity. When this happens, it will be possible to consider that someone's contribution has a timeless value, something that has happened with the great characters of history.
The timeless present
Finally, we must not forget that grammatically there is the so-called timeless present, which consists of using the verb in the present to refer to what does not depend on time (the Earth revolves around the Sun or the Amazon flows into the Atlantic Ocean ).
