definition of climatology

The Climatology is the discipline that focuses on the study of climate and weather, is part of the GeographyIn other words, it is a branch of this science, since the issue of climate has always been an occupation and concern of Geography.

Because we agree, that the atmospheric conditions, the climate, the time, depends on the performance of various activities that we carry out as men, from agriculture to an outing with friends to the countryside will be modified by weather conditions; In other words, if we know that it will rain on Saturday thanks to the fact that the relevant meteorological service informed us, we will surely modify the organized plan or replace it with another; Somehow, the weather helps us humans to know the typical climate of where we live. For all this, studies and efforts have been developed to be able to predict the weather much better, both in the short and medium term.

Although it uses the same parameters as the meteorology, the mission of climatology will be to study long-term climatic characteristics, It does not seek to make immediate predictions as it does the meteorology.

Both time and climate develop in the atmosphere, while in order to define a climate rigorously, it will be necessary to observe the area or region for a really long period of time, for example, a minimum of 30 years, in order to have a finished idea of it.

Over long periods of time, the climate tends to be regular, determining in some way the evolution of the geographical cycle of an area, a fact that will allow the development of a certain vegetation and a balanced soil. But it is also possible that in geological periods the climate changes in a natural way, then, the types of times are modified and it is passed from one climate to another in the same area.
