program definition

In a general sense, a program is something that is planned with the intention of executing it later. The term is used in all those activities in which a prior organization is required (a vacation or study plan, a business strategy, a political proposal, a planning for physical training ...). In general, a program is an explanatory synthesis of something.

Some are drawn up in a rigorous and systematic way (for example, those that have to do with the business world) and others are a brief summary where some guidelines are highlighted.

In any case, its development has a double objective: to anticipate a situation in advance and to inform others about something. In Spanish, there are several words that act as synonyms, such as plan, project, scheme, draft or approach. In recent years, an equivalent concept, a roadmap, has been coined.

The figure of the programmer goes beyond computing

Every program has to be designed by a person or a team, that is, by someone who has the ability to organize something effectively. Thus, the programmer is normally an expert in a subject. Although the word programmer is used in the field of computing and refers to the technician who organizes instructions related to computing, in practice there are "programmers" in all areas, such as a sports coach, a teacher, a producer of cinema or a cook are equally organizers of their respective activities.

The brain as a program and mental deprogramming

Our brain acts like a computer program. Thus, there are biological instructions and codes with which we are born and with learning and behavioral habits we incorporate new strategies that allow us to adapt to reality. Neuroscientists argue that we are programmed to live in society, to fall in love, to exercise, or to manipulate the reality around us.

However, the program of our brain can also receive viruses, that is, toxic or dangerous ideas that threaten ourselves. This is what happens in some cases where individuals are manipulated by others, for example by members of a destructive cult. When this happens, you have to resort to some kind of mental deprogramming.

Mental deprogramming involves unlocking a series of deeply held ideas and beliefs so that the affected individual can think for himself. According to psychologists specializing in this matter, it is the individual himself who deprograms himself, but this requires the help of a specialist.
