The word praise is used in our language to designate that praise 
that is made of the virtues and qualities that an individual presents, an idea, a thought or a thing.

So when we like something or someone, we like them, we will praise them, and on the contrary, when we dislike something and it does not have our preference at all, we will tend to criticize it.
It should be noted that both praise and criticism do not usually have the same effect on all people, although there is a tendency that says that praise is liked by everyone while criticism does not and even more, it triggers strong anger and tension in those who are subject to it, it is also worth mentioning that there are many people who are absolutely indifferent to praise and criticism, that is, they do not affect them in the least in their behavior or in what they planned to do or say.

Now, on the other hand, there are some theories of psychology that claim that praise is beneficial for the physical and mental health of an individual, generating a super positive influence on the personality and character of the person who receives them. This state of affairs occurs with more forcefulness in those cases in which the person has low self-esteem, then, receiving compliments about what he does or says will make his performance improve in every way and be an additional incentive to continue acting in the sense that it does.
At work and in the practice of a sport, praise can be widely beneficial in the performance of the recipient and predispose him to continue acting in that sense, exceeding and standing out.
