Interior design, decoration or interior design are disciplines that have common aspects and some differences. All of them share a fundamental idea: to create useful, functional spaces with an aesthetic dimension. Likewise, in the three areas it is intended that the user of a space is comfortable and has pleasant sensations. The interior design, decoration and interior design try to optimize the spaces to the maximum (enhancing their positive aspects and minimizing the negative ones). Regarding the differences, the most significant are the following:
1) the interior designer projects a space that has not yet been built,
2) the decorator creates an environment in an already defined space and does so through lighting, color or textures and
3) The professional who is dedicated to interior design focuses on modifying the space and its distribution (changes in the furniture, elevation of the floor, incorporation of a false ceiling, delimitation of areas, etc.).
Interior design, decoration and interior design are communicating and complementary disciplines and are based on creativity to find solutions to the needs of spaces intended for housing or any other activity.
Home-oriented interior design
If someone wants to change the approach to their home, they should contact an interior designer. This professional has to assess your personal circumstances (number of people living in the home, their particular needs and preferences).
An important aspect in interior design is to make the most of the possibilities of the home, since normally the space of the houses has obvious limitations. In this sense, the interior designer can create multipurpose spaces, that is, areas that allow different activities (for example, a place in the house that is an area to watch television and a place to study).
Interior design and disability
People who have some physical limitation may be forced to adapt their home to certain parameters. Let's imagine that a person is in a wheelchair and looking for a home. In order for you to live comfortably and with a good quality of life, you must take into account various aspects:
1) a space that allows you to move comfortably must not include steps of any kind and must incorporate wide corridors,
2) the furniture must be adapted so that your physical limitation does not prevent you from carrying out household chores and
3) incorporate accessibility criteria throughout the home.
