definition of discord

The concept of discord calls a very frequent situation in our society and in interpersonal relationships, which is the disagreement and opposition of wills and opinions.

Of course, since one person is not the same as another, differences of criteria and opinions can always occur when resolving a conflicting issue.

Now, in the specific case of discord, we must say that this existing disagreement is deep, very difficult to settle, leaving the people or elements involved in a great confrontation that can even lead to shouting, mistreatment and violence, in the most serious cases. .

Those most important discords are capable of causing ruptures, divisions, cracks and schisms in a relationship between people, groups, countries, among others.

Of course, discord can be overcome but it is not an easy job, normally you will need an interlocutor or mediator who brings calm, who brings positions closer and who obviously seeks points of agreement.

Its other side: concord

The opposite face of discord is concord, a situation that supposes the agreement, harmony and prevailing conformity between people, groups, things, among others.

Obviously we must always contribute our behavior and opinion to a state of harmony rather than discord, of course. Discord does not bring anything good to the group or society it affects, but rather the opposite, problems, staunch divisions, among the most frequent situations.

There are people more prone to discord, they already have it in their personality, it is difficult for them to seek and find agreements with others and they are always inclined to fight. Obviously, relationships with them will always be complex to cope with in a calm and harmonious way.

Goddess of Roman Mythology
