The word autumn designates one of the four seasons of the year that occurs between winter and spring and of course, according to the part of the hemisphere in which it is, this season will present variations in its beginning. Formally, in the northern hemisphere it begins on September 21 and ends on December 21 and on the other hand, in the southern hemisphere it extends from March 21 to June 21.
Meanwhile, as a consequence that generally the climate and the characteristics of the season are repeated during the entire months of September, October and November, in the northern hemisphere and March, April and May in the southern hemisphere, it is also in these months that it speaks of autumn although effectively and formally it is not.
Among the most visible characteristics and sensitivity of this station, the following can be highlighted: temperatures begin to dropr, appreciating a marked difference with respect to the predominant so far, the days start to get shorter, that is, it dawns later and around five in the afternoon night begins to fall, the leaves of the trees begin to change color, first they turn yellowish, then they turn towards a brown color, until they dry, they detach from the trees, finally falling to the ground with the invaluable help of the wind that begins at this time to blow louder and makes them, as we said, fall. Many of these conditions that we mention are those that announce us and will prepare us to go through the next season of the year, the hardest of all, for many: winter.
On the other hand, animals they also begin to activate even more, since around these times they begin to prepare to hibernate, eating and storing large amounts of food in their "homes" to withstand the winter. And also, autumn, turns out to be the ideal season to harvest, for example sunflower, corn.
In another sense, for many, autumn tends to trigger feelings of nostalgia, sadness and melancholy.
