definition of corporal

The term body is applied to refer to all that phenomenon, element or situation that is related to the body, both humans and animals. Corporal then acts as an adjective and can be used in numerous and varied situations in which the body is discussed. In this sense, the term corporal is also applied to other areas in which it is trying to refer to 'body' or corporate structures, such as the military body, the body of an organization, etc.

Obviously, the most common use of the term body is that which is related to the anatomical structure of a subject or animal. Thus we understand the body as a complex system of matter that is composed of various elements and sections, and that also performs an infinite number of physiological, chemical and biological functions that allow us to subsist in the environment. 'Corporal' is generally associated more than anything with these types of biological and health issues rather than with issues of a psychic or mental nature.

We can also point out that a good body state is one in which the body is balanced in different areas of its functioning, mainly in its physical and organic state. The conditions of good body condition are obtained from the realization of physical activity, a good diet and the development and acquisition of good life habits such as not smoking, having good rest and recreation.

For many non-Western cultures the mind-body connection is of great importance since it is considered that such balance is what allows the individual to maintain a good life experience. For that it is necessary to carry out different types of meditations and activities in which both the mind and the body disconnect from the environment and get in deep contact with each other.
