definition of recycle bin

On computing, is called a recycle bin to that storage area presented by all modern operating systems to which computer files that are considered useless in the first instance and have been decided to be eliminated from the memory of a computer are sent, that is to say, any file that we delete from our computer will be sent directly to this area so that it remains there until the final elimination is carried out.

What facilitates this function is that, for example, if a file was deleted quickly and without thinking from a folder or it was done by mistake, the aforementioned area will allow it to be recovered by right-clicking on the file in question and accepting the restore function. element. If the latter is what has happened to us and we restore an item from the recycle bin, it will be returned to its original location, or rather, it will return to the one from which it was deleted.

In the specific case of Microsoft, it added the recycle bin to the system in the Windows 95 with the aim of continuing to keep those files that had been accidentally or intentionally deleted, giving the user a second chance to review the file again before permanently deleting it.

The most original and important thing about this function is that it stores the information with date, time and the location where the files were initially.

Access to the trash can is very simple, from the desktop, through the recycle bin icon, while its icon tells us if there are items to delete or not, if it is full of crumpled papers it indicates that there are items inside and if on the contrary it is empty it implies that there are no elements waiting to be eliminated.
