Everyday is understood to be what is daily, that is, it happens frequently and by case it is habitual.
That which happens daily and is habitual and is opposed to the extraordinary
It is closely linked to everything that has to do with everyday life or with the daily lifestyle. If we analyze the term, we can say that everyday acts as a qualifying adjective and as such serves to designate all those phenomena that are related or that occur in the everyday, ordinary, daily life of a person, as well as also of a group of people or society.
The opposite of the everyday is the extraordinary, the unusual: for example, experiencing an earthquake, while the everyday is for example going to sleep every night, to work or study every morning, to the supermarket every week to make the purchases that correspond.
Association with the lifestyle that someone leads. The everyday is not the same for everyone and is made up of the activities that are carried out every day
Daily life is a phenomenon that has to do with the lifestyle that each person leads in their day-to-day lives and that can be completely different from one case to another but more or less the same for that particular person. In other words, a person can carry out an activity on a daily basis, go to the gym, for example, while on the contrary another does not do it, while for the person who exercises every day this is part of their daily life while For the other it will not be, and it will be something common not to do physical exercise and for example it will be extraordinary one day to do gymnastics.
Thus, while for one person the daily routine is to work during the day and sleep at night, for another it may be just the opposite.
This tells us that the concept of everyday life, as is the case with most of the concepts used in the social sciences, is a completely subjective concept since each person or individual establishes their own routine of actions, tasks and experiences according to what they do. interests, what you need to do or other fortuitous events that can also mark your daily life.
Usually, when we talk about everyday we are referring to the things or events that make up the routine of most of the people who live in western or westernized societies: sleeping, waking up, going to work, eating, entertaining themselves in various ways, and return home to repeat the same routine the next day. As it was said before, this routine can present many variations in each particular case but it always tends to be repeated in the life of each person at least for more or less long periods of time.
Therefore, this concept is closely related to routine, which refers to that old custom that becomes an acquired habit and that generally leads to doing things without thinking about them.
There are many daily actions that by the mere fact of being carried out every day in a systematic way end up becoming automatic at a certain point, so we don't have to think about them, they are done almost automatically.
For workers, getting up at this or that time, beyond using an alarm clock or not, is part of their routine and they do it without thinking, as are the rest of the daily and routine actions that will surely follow the act of getting up: go to the bathroom to wash your face, shower, prepare breakfast, get dressed, among others.
The concept has a Latin origin and was used with the same reference as nowadays already in Ancient Rome
Ultimately, everyday events are those normal, common, not extraordinary, it is the latter that normally go down in history as such and not those associated with everyday life because they eventually end up becoming customs.
When approaching this concept, we cannot ignore the relevance it has held and has in the arts and literature throughout history and today, since plastic artists and authors have always liked to show and immortalize through of his creations the daily routine of each era.
