The Kabala or Cabala is a code found in the Torah, the religious text of the Jews. As it is a code, a decoding is necessary to understand it, which is done through a specialist in the language of the Torah, who knows how to correctly interpret all the secrets and mysteries contained in this text.
The fundamental idea of the Kabala
Torah scholars affirm that the fundamental idea of the Kabala lies in correctly interpreting the literalness of religious texts. In this sense, according to the Kabala, there are two planes of language: the external and literal and, in parallel, a deeper plane.
The Kabala is considered as a discipline and a school of esoteric thought whose purpose is to unveil the mysteries of the Torah of the Jewish religion. From a historical point of view, the Kabala began in the XII century of our era among some Jewish communities in southern France and northern Spain. However, references to the Kabala are already found in the first testimonies and texts of the Jewish religion.
The fundamentals of the Kabala
Kabala means in Hebrew common flame of the heart. This definition goes on to say that the words of the Torah ignite the human spirit.
The Kabala is based on knowledge that is transmitted orally from generation to generation, but the content of this discipline is related to the first five books of the Jewish Torah.
Genuine Kabbalists always allude to biblical texts, since other approaches are not part of the Kabala (for example, those doctrines that focus on the numerical ordering system of the Torah to found a numerological conception that implies that numbers of the Torah hide their true mysteries). The experts in the Kabala insist that it is not a numbers game but rather it is a deep knowledge oriented to the authentic inner wisdom.
The Kabala has a direct relationship with Jewish ethics. Thus, the Torah statement "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" should not be construed as an idea of revenge but actually expresses the proportion and balance that must exist for us to speak of true justice.
The Kabala can be understood as a learning method to achieve spiritual wisdom
People who want to start in the Kabala have to turn to a teacher to initiate them in this learning process. Studying this discipline can take months and even years.
Finally, the Kabbalists maintain that the human being has a deep alliance with the Creator, a pact of fire that marks the course of human life.
