definition of knowledge

It is one of the most important capacities of the human being, a power that has great potential since knowledge is constantly updated as shown by the training process that a student passes throughout his life.

A person of eighty years knows more than a child of ten thanks to his experience acquired in the "school of life". That is, the understanding of the environment and the different sciences is a legacy for the evolution of humanity itself.

Search for the truth

The philosophy that was born in ancient Greece is a reflection of the value of the history of knowledge itself as a fundamental good for the pursuit of happiness. Important names such as Plato, Thomas Aquinas, Descartes, Hume and Kant have contributed to this legacy of wisdom.

Since the end of every human being is not only to be happy, as Aristotle well explained, specifying how, from the affective point of view, any person seeks their own personal fulfillment. From the intellectual point of view, the end of the human being is the search for the truth.

Through reason, the human being can reach the essence of things. That is, you can internalize ideas. This intellectual capacity is immaterial, in this way, the human being can accumulate an uncountable number of ideas, precisely because they do not occupy a physical space somewhere in the brain.

The essence of the act of knowing is intentionality, as explained by Thomas Aquinas, that is, the idea of a tree, for example, refers to the real and observable concept of a tree. Thanks to this ability, the person can get out of himself and understand the environment around him.

Not only is it possible to accumulate information on different subjects, we also meet different people throughout our lives. And although we live in a society in which sentimentality seems a rising value, in reality, it should be pointed out that it is only possible to truly love someone when you know who they are.

When you really know him. This is one of the reasons why falling in love can fall like a mirage since at this stage there is idealization.

Ways of learning

There are many different ways to grow in wisdom. You can learn in a self-taught way through reading, the positive example of other people, academic training, mentoring, practical experience, travel ... The mind structures this content in an orderly way.
