definition of righteousness

The word rectitude It is used in our language with two senses. On the one hand, it allows us to refer to the quality of rectum, that is, when something, for example an object or figure does not have curves, nor does it lean to both sides, nor does it present angles, it will be spoken in terms of straightness.

And on the other hand, the word rectitude allows to refer to the integrity and severity and that is why this sense of the word is usually linked to issues such as: justice, fairness, honesty, integrity and impartiality.

When the word is applied in relation to an individual, that is, if someone is said to have righteousness, it is because he behaves and acts correctly, attentively and with great education.

By the way, rectitude is a characteristic characteristic of human beings but not all people show it, that is, it is their own and is present in those people who behave and express themselves with sincerity and coherence always, showing it and also respecting supreme values such as justice and truth.

With the aforementioned, what is meant is that righteousness is not a matter that is based or depends on the personal desires of individuals, but that the act of acting with righteousness will always demand a close relationship with the truth that has nothing to do with it. with intentions but with demonstrable facts.

If, for example, a person hides certain information of interest, he can never be considered as the owner of rectitude, on the other hand, when someone despite violating his interests reveals information then he will be acting with rectitude.

It should be noted that the person who acts in this last mentioned way, in addition to respecting the truth, has enormous respect for his neighbor.

And on the contrary, the concept that is opposed is that of dishonesty because it precisely implies the lack of rectitude, honesty and ethics in acting.
