definition of health system

The sanitary system It is made up of all those organizations that are in charge of providing health services, including hospitals, specialized health professionals such as doctors, nurses, among others, officials, health care centers and public health services and also by those other actors, such is the case of networks, sectors, ministries, specialized institutions and organizations that have a concrete and specific function and influence in the health area of a nation.

Groups of organizations and actors that provide health services in a nation and that are responsible for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health in that place

The primary mission that the health system of a nation fulfills, regardless of who it is managed, managed or administered by, is the promoting, maintaining and restoring the health of your country.

This type of system has wide differences whether you are in one country or another.

Health systems depending on whether it is a developed or underdeveloped economy

For example, at the request of a country with little development and growth at all levels, underdeveloped, the health system will surely present serious deficiencies when it comes to solving the health problems of its inhabitants, and it will also not be able to offer them neither promotion nor much less treatments , because of course, what most fails in these scenarios is the absence of equipment for diagnosis and treatment as well as seasoned health professionals, and there is also a lack of supplies and medicines.

Another point that cannot be ignored in this regard is the poor building conditions that many public hospitals have, with elevators that do not work, lack of beds, and of course the lack of maintenance that causes the structure to be in decline.

Let's think about what is happening today in Venezuela, the tremendous economic, political, and social crisis that this Caribbean country is going through has reduced health care to a critical level.

Not only do we hear and see Venezuelans complain about the lack of supplies in hospitals but also about the care they receive in health centers. Many are even traveling to other countries in the region to be treated for their conditions.

A totally different face is the one that appears in developed countries, which allocate large budgets to the health area.

Obviously money that is well applied and that reaches the places and hands that must be done so that the health system is good and can respond in all aspects to the demands of patients.

System financing classes

There are different ways of financing and managing health systems and although they should be compared and differentiated according to the political approach that each one presents, they are usually differentiated around the financing they present, private, public, mixed, that is, a mixture of public and private interests or by non-profit entities.

Meanwhile, health systems are also integrated by various sub systems such as: financial, human resource administration, political and structural.

Although in some countries, unfortunately, such a situation is not fulfilled, the idea is that all health care systems, whatever their policies and financing, practice and strive for principles such as accessibility, solidarity, efficiency, universality, effectiveness and ethics.

In most developed countries and even in those that are in the process of doing so, health care is provided to all individuals, without distinction, regarding their ability to pay or not, although, in any case, it turns out to be a common and unfortunate reality, especially in underdeveloped countries, that a private health care system also coexists as a consequence of the lack of efficiency of the public health system, something that we have already discussed at length above.

Private health

Thus, prepaid health systems are born in these places to counteract the deficiency presented by the health system regulated and financed by the state.

In return, the member must pay a monthly fee to be able to obtain that rather personalized, fast care, and in centers that offer greater comfort than public hospitals, which, as we indicated, in countries with problems in this area are certainly devastated and lacking in maintenance.
