environment

definition of environment

We can define the environment as that space in which some kind of natural exchange takes place that makes life possible in it.

Space, which includes nature and large cities, in which the various forms of life that coexist interact and in which vital processes are generated

The environment is not only space but also the different forms of life that take place in it.

That is, if we were talking about space we would only be referring to a spatial location.

On the other hand, the concept of environment expands this last idea to include everything that has to do with the life that takes place in that space.

In the environment, all the activities and relationships of the various living beings that make it up take place, the human being per case, and especially the action that this maintains with what surrounds it and that many times ends up affecting it in some sense with that action.

Meanwhile, we must include as part of the environment not only natural spaces where nature is absolutely visible but also those that are inhabited by human beings, such is the case of large cities.

Today, the environment is a very fashionable topic due to all the debate that is generated around its care and how human activity contributes to damaging it faster and faster.

The main problems our environment suffers, and how to help it

One of the biggest problems related to the environment is how the destruction and mistreatment that humans inflict on it has increased in recent years, and that unfortunately in some situations is already irreversible.

The economic activities of man, soil erosion, deforestation without the corresponding afforestation, the extreme consumption of non-renewable goods, and pollution caused by the greenhouse effect, are some of the most serious scourges facing the environment of our planet.

Fortunately, and hand in hand with this lack of control, in recent times an important awareness has grown among people to try to reverse these evils, or at least those that can still take care of themselves.

Awareness by governments and NGOs, through advertising campaigns, the direct fight against the economic interests that affect the planet, and the development of some domestic activities, but no less effective, such is the case of recycling, the separation of garbage, and the responsible consumption of energy, are some of the actions that have made it possible to reverse the implosion of the environment.

The environment is nothing other than the environment, precisely the place or space in which different processes related to life take place.

This life can be very diverse if one takes into account not only human life but also animal and plant life.

Each environment is characterized by particular elements that make it special and different from the rest, which is why it is impossible to speak of a single environment.

Media components

To better understand what it is that makes up the environment, we must speak of three levels: the physical, the biological and, if necessary, the socioeconomic.

In the first, we refer to everything that has to do with geography, climate, and geology.

These elements form the foundation on which all life forms will be established.

The biological plane is made up of the human population as well as the flora and fauna that occupy this space.

Finally, the socioeconomic environment is the one that refers to the activity of the human being and its effect on the environment.

The biggest problem that the environment presents today is that which has to do with the damage that man has been causing to it in recent centuries.

In this sense, we must say that the environment can present natural changes or alterations that have to do with the physical space or even with the actions of different plant or animal species (such as when the phenomenon known as plague is generated).

However, there have been no more significant changes to the environment than those that humans have generated with their industrial, productive and economic activities: deforestation, pollution, urbanization, the use of elements or chemicals and, ultimately, climate change. are some of the results that this alteration of the environment generates, affecting all living beings that inhabit the environment.

It is a fairly recent concept and, as we have seen, it is associated with the space in which we live and in which we participate, human beings, acting all the time in it, for this reason we cannot reduce its scope to biological issues , environmental or geographical nothing else, everything that people do will positively or negatively affect the environment and it is essential that we know and be aware of it.
