The term 'artificial' is used as an adjective to designate all those elements, objects or situations that are created by man in the likeness of what surrounds him and that is part of nature. The word artificial comes from the noun 'artifact' or 'artifact', both referring to elements that are made from the intelligence and creativity of the human being. Although this is not always the case, in some cases the idea of artificial can have certain negative implications, in the sense of not being natural or normal.
If something artificial is understood as everything created by the human being, then we can say that this adjective can be applied to periods as old as Prehistory, at which time the human being began to create and design the first hunting and subsistence artifacts. Throughout history, the artifacts invented by man have varied so much and so greatly that it is almost impossible to relate to each other, but without a doubt, it is also impossible to think that all current inventions could have been achieved without millennia of previous technologies.
Much of the artificial elements that humans have created throughout history had to do with the search to improve the quality of life. Nowadays, therefore, the current human being is surrounded by a lifestyle that has little natural and that has almost lost contact with everything that was already on Earth before his arrival. Large cities lack contact with the natural elements and life is completely dominated by a significant variety of artifacts and artifacts of different kinds. For many critics, this is one of the most negative aspects of the idea of artificial, one that implies the loss of relationship with nature.
