mail definition

Mail is the communication system that allows communication between two different parties through specific elements, normally letters or documents that are sent protected by envelopes or packages depending on the possibilities for each case. It is also known as mail to the service through which a company is responsible for distributing these shipments to the appropriate people.

The mail understood as a communication between two distant parties exists together with the human being since writing was invented and it was possible through it to send data, information or notices from one place to another. For a long time, the post was a privilege that few could enjoy or use since the distances to travel and the costs that this implied were gigantic. At the same time, this was used only in necessary cases as the delay made it impractical. As distances shortened, communication systems improved, and the mail system diversified, this possibility became much more common and accessible to many parts of society.

Currently, the mail is organized nationally, with each country having its own postal service in the hands of public and private companies that travel throughout the country and that can offer different possibilities to their customers. Today mail is private and despite being in the hands of the State, people must pay a minimum tax that can vary in tariff depending on the type of service purchased.

Obviously, the existence and dissemination of e-mail has greatly reduced costs since it is almost free and, in addition, much faster and more efficient. This type of mail only requires two connection ports (personal computers, laptops and others) that are responsible for receiving and sending all emails almost immediately.
