The adjective radical designates that someone or something presents an extreme approach and is sometimes used as a synonym for revolutionary.
From a personal point of view, someone is considered radical when their attitudes or ideas are opposed to the conventional, that is, to what is established and is considered normal in the sphere of society.
In the political sphere, there are radical positions, which are those that are valued as extremist, revolutionary and transformative. In this sense, anarchism is a clear example of radical ideology, as it advocates the abolition of the state and private property, as well as freedom as the supreme value.
Radicalism opposes reformism
An individual, a political formation, a religious group or an entity practice radicalism when they propose resounding solutions, that is, when they aspire to a break with the established order. A simple change means a reform, which can be understood as reformism.
Free radicals
In the biochemical processes of our organism permanent changes take place. A part of the cell transformation process is called free radical. Free radicals (unpaired electrons) are created in the mitochondria, which can be very harmful to the health of the body. Free radicals destroy the mitochondria in cells and this affects cellular energy, which has various consequences: premature aging of cells, cardiovascular problems, hypertension or diabetes.
To stop the negative action of free radicals, the human body generates antioxidants or it is possible to consume products with an antioxidant effect to balance the damaging effect of free radicals.
