The term we are analyzing is not very common in common language. It comes from the Latin word interdictio, which means prohibition or veto. The noun interdiction corresponds to the verb interdict. In simple language, it means removing rights.
In the field of Justice
Everyone has rights, but in some special circumstances these rights can be legally overridden. Thus, the mentally ill, drug addicts, minors with physical or mental problems can be subject to interdiction and all of them are known as injunctions.
A civil interdiction process is intended to limit the inalienable rights of individuals who cannot manage their assets and assets for any medical reason that justifies it. As a consequence of this type of process, a judge establishes that the injunction can no longer be autonomous in its decisions and, therefore, another person becomes its legal guardian (normally the parents in the case of minors or one of spouses).
The interdiction process in people with dementia
The legal guardianship of a person with mental problems is a legal formula aimed at protecting that person, who due to his lack of reason cannot take care of his assets and basic needs. As a general rule, this type of process is carried out in family courts.
As is logical, only a judge can rule in relation to an interdiction process. For a process of this nature to be launched, a series of requirements must be met:
1) that the injunction's family make the decision to manage their assets,
2) that medical evidence is presented that accredits the mental conditions of the affected person,
3) that a collegiate lawyer file the corresponding civil interdiction claim and
4) that persons appear to testify at the trial to give their testimony about the mental situation of the injunction.
When a person is declared an injunction, a judge appoints a curator or guardian, who becomes his legal representative.
One of the medical problems related to this circumstance is the declaration of dementia, which can be absolute or relative. The relative is temporary and usually occurs after an accident that causes some intellectual limitation. If the insanity is absolute, the curator handles the injunction for life.
As a general rule, the court tries to make the curator a direct relative, since it is assumed that the family will better protect the interests of the injunction.

And in linguistics we meet the linguistic interdiction That implies the psychological restraint of the individual when having to use certain words that are considered prohibited or taboo by the community to which they belong. Generally, there are social, cultural and existential factors that cause these words to give off unpleasant, vulgar and socially and politically incorrect mental associations.
Then, with the intention of reducing the rejection effects against these expressions, the linguistic interdiction arises, which consists of substituting those incorrect words, or failing that, refining them for others that have a less strong meaning (euphemism).
