definition of magnificence

Magnificence is a concept that can have different applications. One of the most frequent is the virtue of a person who is very generous and shares what he has with others. In this context, magnificence is the virtue contrary to the vice of greed typical of a person who is obsessed with saving and does not value what he has because it never seems enough. The miser falls into the materialism of converting having as a means, on the contrary, a person who is defined by his magnificence is detached.

This magnificence is especially valuable when a person invests his resources in supporting causes in which he believes and collaborates with just and solidary ends. The nuance to understand what liberality is lies in understanding that whoever decides to donate a certain amount or make a specific expense does so because for that person, this investment is a reason for happiness in itself (but not because they expect something in return).

Heritage magnificence

Magnificence can also be a quality that refers to the brilliance and majesty of a building, for example a church with a great cultural and historical heritage. Some cities of great tourist value at an international level such as Rome, the eternal city, is an example of a destination that shines for its majesty. We can also feel overwhelmed in a positive way by the majestic beauty of a natural landscape that envelops us in its perfection.

A luxury hotel also shines for the majesty of the different rooms of that hotel destination that make that place a real treasure. From the tourist point of view, when a visitor knows a new place, he receives information at the local Tourist Office about which are the most valuable points from the artistic and patrimonial point of view. The different Wonders of the World or those assets that are World Heritage Sites are also an example of majesty.

Divine magnificence

Divine magnificence refers to the greatness and generosity of God as the creator and foundation of everything. On a personal level, the human being can also shine for his magnificence through his wisdom, his desire for self-improvement and the courage to carry out great feats. Magnificence is a personal quality that in the Middle Ages was attributed to royalty.
