meeting definition

Meeting is understood to be the grouping of several people at a given time and space voluntarily or accidentally. The meeting is one of the most characteristic expressions of any living being that is considered gregarious and this is especially important in the case of the human being. The meeting of different individuals in a specific place and time can be carried out in a planned way, with a defined objective and with a planned duration, but it can also happen spontaneously, for accidental reasons and without any major purpose. In both cases, there is talk of the meeting of two or more people who generally know each other previously, although this does not always happen.

There are different types of meetings that humans carry out. While in the case of animals the gathering of specimens in a common moment and place has to do normally with the notion of life as a whole, in the case of humans the gathering can represent different meanings.

One of the most characteristic cases of a meeting is one that has to do with professional or labor issues. In this area, the people gathered come together to work on common elements and outline future actions, to make an analysis of what has been done, to assign tasks, to control different aspects of everyone's work. In these cases, the meetings are usually formal, with a specific vocabulary related to the topic to be carried out.

Meetings for pleasure or celebration are also very common. In this sense, the spirit is much more relaxed and recreation or fun are the center of the event. These meetings can have specific objectives such as holding important events, but they can also be completely disinterested and set up simply for the people attending to share the moment together by chatting. On many occasions, these gatherings include different types of food and drink and are usually accompanied by music, videos, different artistic expressions, etc.
