It is designated by the term of fragrance to that pleasant and soft smell that a person gives off when walking, the one that has a soap, a perfume, a body cream, among others.

Pleasant odor emanating from a person or item

But generally they are the perfumes the fragrances that par excellence give off the most pleasant odors to our noses, positively satisfying our sense of smell and for example, the concept is especially associated with that of perfume and are often used as synonyms.

Perfume: aromatic liquid that people use to smell good or remove bad odors from some spaces

So, perfumes, also called fragrances, are those aromatic liquids that humans use to give off pleasant smells.

Although there is no reason to wear a fragrance or perfume, people tend to use them more frequently when we have to attend a special or relevant event, such as a party, a romantic meeting, among others.

In these contexts we want to feel beautiful, approved by the rest of the people and therefore a pleasant fragrance that seduces and attracts others will help us a lot in this regard.

How and where to apply it

It is usually recommended, so that the smell lasts longer, apply the perfume or fragrance immediately after bathing. Meanwhile, the most common places on the body in which it is applied, because they are precisely the ones that best maintain and contain it are: behind the ears, on the wrists, the neck, among others.

History of fragrances

The art of making the fragrances contained in perfumes had its origin in Egypt, then it was developed by both Arabs and Romans, and from Spain, during the Renaissance era, it was reintroduced throughout Europe, while it would be France, towards the fourteenth century the center of cultivation of the flowers with which perfumes would be made and from then until today, France, turns out to be the capital of perfume, where the best fragrances have their beginning and also where the perfume industry and trade has been established in some way, from there to the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, we cannot ignore that the origin of the fragrance is closely related to religion and religious rituals that were celebrated thousands of years ago, since they arose to cover the bad odors generated by the sacrifices of animals and humans in some cultures.

A popular and widespread comment is that the French always smell good, and this is precisely linked to the fact that their country is considered a mecca for perfume.

Composition and types

The perfume consists of a mixture of aromatic substances, natural essential oils and synthetic essences, plus a solvent which can be solid or liquid, alcohol in most cases, and a fixative which will be in charge of providing the pleasant and long-lasting aroma. Essential oils are extracted from the vegetables that contain them already formed or that have the elements for their formation.

There are different perfumes depending on the aromatic intensity they present: fragrance (the most concentrated, between 15 and 40%), eau de perfume (presents a concentration of less than 15%), bathwater (concentration between 7 and 15%), Eau de cologne (with the same concentration as the previous one but mostly with citrus aromas) and splash (They have a 1% concentration).

The power of your seduction

In addition to its rich aroma, the perfume has a very particular action when it comes to seduction.

As we have already pointed out, human beings have always been interested in developing these types of products, to smell good and because of the power of seduction that is proven they know how to achieve in others.

Today the perfume industry is immense and has achieved a truly fantastic development.

A million dollar industry

There are many brands that exclusively produce perfumes, but also, in recent decades other variants have been added, such as artists who develop their own fragrance and market it, themselves being their image, such is the case of the Colombian singer Shakira or actor Antonio Banderas.

And also designers and clothing brands develop their own fragrances, such is the case of Christian Dior, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, among others.

But in addition to the ones we place on our bodies, fragrances intended for domestic use are also widely used and popular, that is, to add rich smells to the environments of the house, and there are also fragrances for cars.
