Oxidation is a chemical process that produces the transformation of a body as a consequence of the action of oxygen or an oxidant, which is that element or material that oxidizes, such is the case of oxygen which is considered an oxidant par excellence.

Whenever an element comes into contact with oxygen, with air, basically, its oxidation is generated, however, mostly that occurs with the metallic elements that are exposed to direct contact with both oxygen and water as well.

So the oxidation process generates rust. Rust It is precisely a compound that is obtained by combining an element that is metal with oxygen. Meanwhile, the oxide is easy to recognize at sight because on the object in which this transformation was carried out, a layer of brown and reddish color can be seen. Any metal that is exposed to air or humidity undergoes this process and the aforementioned coloration in its appearance is certainly characteristic.
