definition of laptop

The word laptop is used to designate laptop-type computers that can be worn on the lap or lap. Its name comes from English, the language in which lap means skirt and top because it can be placed on top of you instead of always having to be fixed on a desk. Precisely, laptops differ from personal computers or desktop PCs in that they are much more comfortable to use, they can be moved from one place to another and they do not need to be always plugged in. Laptops also have other different features that make them much lighter, more practical and easier to use.

The laptop is a portable computer, which means that it can be carried anywhere due to its operation through a battery or electricity, but not exclusively the latter. The appearance of a laptop is similar to that of a book in that it has a lid and base that can be kept open for work or closed when the computer is off. In this way, whatever the model, the laptop can be stored in a drawer or in a much smaller space than what a desktop computer normally occupies. One of the elements against laptops is that they are usually more expensive in terms of prices, although proportionally the investment is much more advisable.

There are different types of laptops that have emerged over time, since the first moment these computers came into being in the 1970s. The most common is the complete laptop, one that has a keyboard similar to that of the PC of desk. In addition, today the market offers the famous netbooks that are even smaller versions in terms of size but also more simplified and basic in terms of functions. Each company has, on the other hand, ultra-thin and light models that are constantly updated and that tend to weigh less and less in order to make the use of these computers completely comfortable and accessible.
