what is traceability »definition and concept

The one of traceability is a prominent concept at the behest of the manufacture of products and services, communication and commerce, and more precisely from the International Organization for Standardization, also known as ISO, which is precisely the organization that deals with develop international manufacturing standards and standardize them so that products and services, among others, enjoy the highest security.

So, in this context, traceability turns out to be a property of a standard measure, which is already linked to local or imported standards, which are obtained from a continuous string of quality comparisons.

It is also the responsibility of traceability all those necessary and established steps that will allow knowing various issues related to the product or service in question, such as its history, its geographical origin, its transfer in a supply chain, among others.

Now, it is possible to find two types of traceability, on the one hand, the internal , which implies the knowledge of the imprint that a product leaves in its wake internally in the company in which it is produced and which has to do especially with the realization of it, such as how it is composed, the materials raw materials that it contains, the machines that were used to form it, the different degrees of temperature that it had to go through for its final conformation, among others.

And on the other hand the external traceability , which is associated with issues that already exceed the terms of manufacture, such as the labeling of the product packaging.

The files known as ILE, which propose encapsulated traceability, turn out to be the standard proposal that it contains and that allows traceability to be shared. In those mentioned it is plausible record the entire history of a product or service, its ingredients or components, the processes to which it has been subjected, the distribution points and its location on the planet.

An interesting feature is that they can be modified with specialized software.

The main advantage of traceability is to be able to know for sure the origin and history that concerns a product x and as a consequence the possibility that the consumer will find products of quality and value.

It should be noted that traceability and technology go hand in hand , since the sensitive information of a product or service is provided in an encrypted manner, which requires special devices to decode the information contained.
