definition of instructive

When we face a situation in which we must carry out an action or procedure without truly knowing how to act, the possibility of having elements such as an instructional guide becomes a truly transcendent and essential fact in order to function properly and successfully.

We could define the instructive then as a series of explanations and instructions that are grouped, organized and exposed in different ways, in various supports, to give an individual the possibility of acting according to how it is required for each situation. The instructions can be very varied according to the type of situation that is applied.

Essentially, the instructional texts have the primary objective of guiding the user in the procedures to follow through in a clear, detailed and precise way, so that the activity to be carried out, or the machine to be started, are simple and successful.

Thus, one of the main objectives with which any type of instruction is developed is to allow the user to carry out certain actions in the best possible way. This is why, to obtain those expected results, it must have some basic characteristics that facilitate the action itself. Among these characteristics we can mention the importance of the instructions being clear and concise as we express it. Instructions need to be given in an accessible way so that the user who reads or follows them can easily understand them. In many cases, tutorials can add pictures and other elements to aid understanding. Because, as the popular saying often goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. But beware, you should not abuse the images either since certain age populations do not feel so comfortable with them and they need a text accompaniment.

On the other hand, the instructions should not be too long as they can become confusing and cause users to get lost in the procedure. In many cases, the instructions can be presented in several languages at the same time with the mission that no one, as a consequence of not handling this or that language, is left out of their understanding.

It is common to find instructions in situations in which the user must perform some type of procedure, learn to handle something or act in a certain way. Among the most common examples of these situations we must point out the moment when one wants to build a piece of furniture or installation, when one buys an appliance or machine and wants to know how to use it or, for example, when a person must know how to proceed in an emergency. or from a crisis situation.

It should be noted that in these times of enormous technological advances and precisely because of this, machines of various types have become more present than ever in our daily lives, the instructions have also become a tool, a hyper-present resource.

All electronic devices, electrical appliances, or machines that we buy come with their corresponding instructions to help the customer in the operation and handling of them. They are attached to the box in which the device or machine is contained and therefore, if you cannot find it, it is important to file a claim with the company that has sold the item to us.

Also, in the age of the internet it is common for people to feel more comfortable searching and downloading the instructions they need through the web. Almost all companies that sell devices or machines include in their web content the respective instructions for each item they sell, while for many users, this fact of being able to find them on the web is more attractive and comfortable since they feel more comfortable to find them reflected on an online website than on printed paper that could get misplaced or directly lost.
