definition of petty

Petty is an adjective that defines the attitude of a mean or hypocritical person who commits actions that can harm others without taking responsibility for their actions. A mean attitude is marked by the arrogance of living very focused on herself and not looking at others with the same attitude. It is full of ego and a very inflated self.

A mean person does not have a high self-esteem but inflated from a totally distorted image of himself. A mean person can be very believed in concrete situations, for example, in success. In that case, you can put yourself in a superior role over others.

A man or woman who frequently lies to his partner and plays with his feelings acts meanly. It should be pointed out that a person can be mean at specific moments when he behaves in an ignoble way, but he can also be mean in a habitual way because of a vanity of character.

Emotional greed

The petty person can be stingy and self-centered not only materially but also emotionally. For example, on a mental level, a person who behaves in this way does not easily praise his co-workers when they have achieved a success since he feels envy for the successes of others. This type of behavior produces unhappiness to the petty one who ends up closed in on himself. A mean person is individualistic and ungenerous in sharing his knowledge with others because he fears that others will shine above his own ego.

A person can also be financially stingy by spending less than they can afford. The obsession with the material plane can lead to gestures of pettiness at certain times. He wants everything and longs for it for himself, for this reason, he suffers when he gives because he feels that with what he can lose, he can make himself small and tiny.

For example, a miserable person who, being able to help a good cause with his collaboration, gives a minimal contribution. For example, it is also possible to use this concept to claim that a person offered a petty proposal for a flat that they wanted to buy.

A meager salary

It can also be considered that a salary is paltry and ridiculous when the monthly amount that the worker receives for a demanding job is ridiculous, so much so that the employee can barely pay the rent. Abusive job offers are a clear example of petty conditions that go against the worker's own dignity.
